BIOSTAT Journey to the Past
On our excursion we will be passing Croatian Zagorje which is known as the green jewel of Croatia. Our goal is to visit the ancient past and to discover how Neanderthals lived.
The Museum of Krapina Neanderthals is one of the most modern museums in the world that contains many interactive contents and multimedia installations which documents Neanderthal Man.
New Krapina Neanderthal Museum opened in February 2010 and follows the idea of excellence founded by Professor Dragutin Gorjanović, a scientist responsible for unique finds of fossil humans from Krapina. The permanent exhibition of the museum is designed in 18 thematic sections that take you far back in time, from the oldest history of the earth to the beginning of civilization and the modern age, with special emphasis on the remarkable discovery in Krapina and the importance of the collection of the Krapina Neanderthal.

The tourist village ''Vuglec Breg'' is the result of the creative and romantic vision of the Vuglec family. The Vuglec family's aim was to convert the heritage of their ancestors into a lasting value. They were guided by their desire to create a unique ambience suited for a pleasant experience and complete enjoyment in the natural environment of Zagorje, a magnificently beautiful region of Croatia.
The estate stretches over an area of 12 hectares and from the peak of the hill, which is at about 300 m above sea level one can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding hills dotted with houses and churches.
